I offer psychotherapy for Florida clients.

(Nov 7, 2025 update: currently I am accepting telehealth clients only).

To get started:

During a free initial 20-minute call or Zoom I will be happy to meet you, answer any questions, and discuss whether I might be a good fit for your current needs. Click here and scroll down to “Find a Time”.

If you would like to use your insurance:

I see insurance-billed clients through Modern Therapy Group. The practice currently accepts Florida Blue, BCBS, Aetna, Medicare, United Health (including Optum, UMR, Oscar, Oxford), and Cigna (updated November 7, 2025).

If you would like to confirm your insurance coverage before or after speaking with me you can do so in just two steps:

  1. Click here to submit your insurance information to Modern’s insurance specialists.

  2. Email me to let me know how you would like to hear back about the results of the insurance verification (email, text, phone call / voicemail). I respond to most insurance requests within one business day.

If you would like self-pay appointments:

I work with an additional clinical supervisor to see self-pay and sliding-scale clients who are referred to me from outside of Modern Therapy Group (details below). My self-pay fee is $150/session for 50-minute sessions, and I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Click here to schedule an free initial call.

Education, credentials, privacy, and confidentiality:

I want prospective clients have access to practice information even before the informed consent process, so I share the following in alignment with Florida law and counseling’s professional ethics:

I completed two separate mental health Master's degrees and was trained by the IFS Institute for additional clinical specialization:

  • Master of Science in Clinical and Health Psychology (Neuropsychology focus), University of Florida, August 2011

  • Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Barry University, August 2025

  • Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Level 1, IFS Institute, January-June 2021

Currently I am credentialed by the Florida Department of Health as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (#IMH28298). This is the Florida government’s post-masters-degree / early-career mental health counseling credential, and Florida law requires that clients are notified of supervision arrangements. I see clients only through Modern Therapy Group and Stephen Towler LLC, with separate clinical supervision arrangements for each:

  • For clients seen through Modern Therapy Group, I am clinically supervised by Jack Hazan, Florida Qualified Supervisor, Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#MH21095).

  • For clients seen outside of Modern Therapy Group through Stephen Towler LLC, I am clinically supervised by Jennifer Munyer, Florida Qualified Supervisor, Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#MH25167).

“Clinical supervision” does not mean your sessions are observed or recorded. It does mean you have access to additional expertise through my on-going consultation with my clinical supervisors (weekly or greater). From a privacy and confidentiality standpoint this means I may discuss anonymized aspects of your care with my clinical supervisor(s). If active crisis management is needed to avoid immediate harm to you or others I may include my clinical supervisor directly in your care.

LIMITS OF HIPAA COMPLIANCE: To protect your privacy and confidentiality, all electronic systems I use to facilitate your counseling services are HIPAA-compliant. This includes scheduling software, video conferencing technologies, document storage, and email and phone accounts from which I correspond with clients. Please keep in mind that does not guarantee the privacy, confidentiality, or security of the client’s side of the communications. For example: if you ask me to email you a therapy resource we discussed in session I am able to affirm the HIPAA compliance of the email account I use to send to you, but I have no control over the privacy, confidentiality, or security of the message once it leaves my email servers en rote to your account.
